Shopify CAPI & server-side tracking compared: wetracked, Elevar, Littledata, Analyzify, Stape
Your ad account shows 80 purchases. Shopify shows 112. Where did the rest go? Usually nowhere: the orders are real, the browser pixel just can't see them. Ad blockers, iOS privacy settings, rejected cookie banners... Same result every time: Meta and Google see fewer conversions, and the algorithm spends money on the wrong people.
The fix is server-side tracking. Order data goes from the server, not the browser, straight to Meta Conversions API (CAPI), GA4 and Google Ads. A handful of popular apps do this. We looked at each of them.
Five popular tools, October 2026 pricing
| Tool | How it charges | Price | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| wetracked.io | Flat monthly by order cap | $49 (up to 500 orders) · $149 (3,000) · $249 (7,500) | Widest ad-channel list. GA4 isn't listed as a destination. |
| Elevar (now Audiense) | Monthly + fee per extra order | $225 (2,000 orders) · $650 (10,000) · $1,250 (30,000); extra orders $0.10–0.75 | Well-established on Shopify. Expert install is $1,000 extra. |
| Littledata | Monthly + tiered per-order fee | $199 (1,500 orders) · $990 (10,000) or $0.35 per order | All destinations on every plan. Shopify only. |
| Analyzify | Flat by order band | $145–225 · Plus $275–575 | Strong on GA4 and Google Ads. No free trial. |
| Stape | Hosting by server requests | Free · $20 · $100 · $200 | Cheap, but you need Google Tag Manager skills and do the setup yourself. |
These are all solid products. There isn't a bad pick here, honestly. The real question is different: how much will you pay over the years?
Quick math: 3,000 orders a month
Picture a growing store doing 3,000 orders a month. At list prices, before tax, roughly:
- wetracked.io Business: $149/mo, $1,788/yr
- Analyzify Standard: $145/mo, $1,740/yr
- Littledata Scale: $199 + 1,500 extra orders × $0.15 ≈ $424/mo, ~$5,100/yr
- Elevar Core: $225 + 1,000 extra orders × $0.50 ≈ $725/mo, ~$8,700/yr
Over three years that's somewhere between $5k and $26k depending on the tool. Most of those bills grow with your orders, and the day you cancel, tracking stops.
What we do instead: build once, own it
We used off-the-shelf tools on our own stores too. Then it clicked: the core of it isn't that complicated. Shopify fires a webhook when an order happens, we clean the data and pass it to Meta CAPI, GA4, Google Ads and Klaviyo, with deduplication so the same order isn't counted twice.
- You pay once. One-time setup fee, then just server costs, usually a few dollars a month.
- Price doesn't grow with orders. 3,000 or 30,000, same system.
- Code and data stay with you. It runs on your server or your cloud account.
- It changes when you need it to. New channel, profit data, a custom event... we add it.
If you want, a small monthly support plan has us watching it: when Meta or Google change something we adapt, and if something breaks we fix it before you notice. Optional.
When does an off-the-shelf app make more sense?
To be fair: if you do a few hundred orders a month and want to start today, wetracked's or Littledata's small plans are perfectly fine. If someone on your team knows Tag Manager, Stape is a very cheap route. A custom setup pays for itself quickly once orders grow, when you run several stores or channels, or when you need something the app simply won't do.
Frequently asked questions
Does server-side tracking replace the pixel?
No, they work together. The pixel captures browser behaviour, the server reliably sends the order, and deduplication keeps the same event from counting twice.
Which platforms can receive the data?
Meta Conversions API, GA4, Google Ads, Klaviyo, TikTok and other channels with an API.
How long does setup take?
Usually a few days on a standard Shopify store, a bit longer for multi-store setups or custom events.
